A young Nigerian couple who met two years ago while serving their country during the mandatory NYSC scheme, are set to tie the knot, and have shared their love story.
The bride to be, identified as Omowunmi Ayeni, has taken to her Facebook page to share the romantic story of how she met her partner at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp two years ago.
According to Ayeni, she met her husband Oluwagbenga Oluwasegun while preparing for a program in camp – they exchanged numbers and went their separate ways but as fate would have it, they met two years after.
Read the couple’s love story below as narrated by Omowunmi,
“Our Love Story #adventureofgamo. Every finish line of a race is the beginning of a new race. During my NYSC race, which was an amazing and interesting year for me.
I registered in camp to take part in the Marketplace readiness programme organised by Fifth gear plus led by Niyi Adesanya. It was at this programme that a certain gentle man OluwaGbemiga A. OluwaSegun walked up to me and told me I would be doing his wedding souvenirs in the nearest future. We exchanged contacts and went our separate ways.
Two years later, after waiting on God for the right partner, i received an instruction to focus more on other people rather than myself according to Job 42:10. So I obeyed that instruction and created a praying group for three days.
Many weeks after this, OluwaGbemiga A. OluwaSegun from NYSC days called me one evening and said; ‘Omowunmi, I want to marry you’.
I laughed out loud for few seconds… (This was what I had been praying for but I didn’t recognise that my prayer had been answered. I am glad I was hospitable and not rude to him).
So I asked for a date, and that date has led us to #adventureofgamo. We are one step closer… #ourintroduction. Dear all, behold my KING…Song by: Zoe&Grace- I will stay.”
